Did you know that over 30% of women experience postpartum depression? It's time to view birth as a ceremony, an initiation for a mother and her baby to step into this new phase of life together, feeling held, safe, supported and nurtured. To see the postpartum period as a healing time for mother and baby to connect on an intimate level.

Having a postpartum doula is not just a luxury or something nice to have. It's a necessity. Not only for the mother but for the whole family. In Ayurveda, it is said that the first 42 days after a woman gives birth shapes the next 42 years of her life! A mother needs the opportunity to have a safe space where she can connect and bond with her baby, to fully experience the newborn bubble in her own unique way.

There are so many unknowns when you are getting to know your baby, finding out what they like and what they don't like, which can be very tiring and stressful. By having someone show up for you daily, cook nourishing food for you, support you emotionally, mentally and physically is how we as women should all be supported in the first few weeks after birth.

Take this opportunity Mama, to shape the next 42 years of your life by being able to bond with your baby, rediscover who you are as a Mama and heal in the way you deserve during your postpartum journey. I can't wait to support you!

Healing Womb Massage

Abhyanga (warm oil massage) of the entire abdomen with Ayurvedic herbs and oils to assist in postpartum healing and regeneration of the womb space.  Gently activating marma points using acupressure to assist in energetic, emotional and physical rejuvenation.

*This can be altered for those who have had a ceasarean section.*

Benefits

  • Getting rid of excess vata (cold energy) in the body to aid in a faster healing process

  • Brings about cell rejuvenation and regeneration as deep as the uterus

  • Helps to tighten skin, decrease visibility of stretch marks, great for the emotional heart

  • Leaves Mama feeling held, supported and rids her of the feelings of emptiness

Ayurvedic Belly Binding

Belly Binding has been used for hundreds of years in new mothers to help assist with healing immediately after birth. This can be done the day you give birth through your entire postpartum period and beyond. Belly Binding is a gentle process of wrapping the entire abdomen in muslin cloth to assist in healing. Can be done after a womb massage and used with belly paste or healing herbal oils.
It is most beneficial to do a belly bind every day for the first 42 days, however, if you only apply the bind a few times, it will still bring nourishment and healing to the womb.

Benefits:

  • Decreases excess vata that is caused by immediate space in the womb after baby is born

  • Closes the pelvis after birth where leaking energy leaves Mama feeling depleted, helps to restore energy

  • Allows Mama to feel held and supported, like a warm hug

Holding Hands

Emily reminded me that the most empowering thing a woman can know is that her body is powerful and very capable to have the birth she always imagined.
